A journey of healing
Our society is becoming
nearly immune to words like addiction, violence, abuse and
homelessness. Can the homeless ever really break the chains of poverty
that bind them? Are they too far gone to be helped? We
know from God's Word that there are none who are beyond hope.
None that He does not love. None that He does not seek and none that He
does not redeem from even the darkest moment of despair, turmoil
or depravity. To do this, God in His wisdom, chooses to use folks
like you and me.
We began this journey a little over two years ago by opening our own home to those without one. Since then, almost 200 folks have shared our home, many using the opportunity to rebuild their lives. Our new facility on Murphy Street will greatly expand our ability to provide the Samaritan's example and to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a tangible way.
When you support the House of Refuge, you are helping someone engage in a journey of healing, connection and empowerment. Your support is vital to ending homelessness in Burke County for whatever we do for “the least of these,” we do for Him (Matthew 25:40).
We are prayerfully seeking partners in this endeavor. Thankfully, there are area churches and individuals who have joined us in our battle to end homelessness but we still need your help if we’re to be successful.
Thank you for your compassion and support.
